The Perfect Swimsuit!

Ugh!  It's that time of year--time to find a new swim-suit.  Actually, I really don't need a new swim-suit--I don't have pool in my yard; I don't belong to a swim club; I'm not going on a beach vacation.  I rarely need to wear a swimsuit.  So why do I put myself through it?  Because, it always feels like if I could just find the "perfect" suit, all would be right in the world!

So, I'm in TJ Maxx the other day & I noticed they had a pretty good selection, so I armed myself with assorted styles, colors, & Sizes and headed to the fitting rooms.  I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.  It appears that swimsuit designers are finally getting it mostly right.  There are some pretty good options out there and here's what I found:

The Skirt:  Be careful with these.  It's deceiving.  It might seem like putting a skirt on will hide & camouflage--but for me, stretching more fabric across my rear was not great option. I decided against this--but it might work for you.  I would make sure the skirts are "short" and not too long.  Also, if you go with a skirt--try a bra style top.  The balance gives an amazing look.

Shirring:  This was my best option.  The more Shirring the better!!  Shirring covers all lumps, bumps, bloating, muffin tops, etc.  I think it works for everyone--.  Love it! 

Miracle Suit:  These suits are made of super Lycra that will suck you in a whole size!  However, just try taking these suits off--it's a struggle!  In fact, It's a Miracle to get the darn thing off without pulling something!  Try the Miracle Suit - you might have to size up for comfort.  They're very TIGHT.

Wrap Suit:  Just like the wrap dress--gives you a Waist!  Very pretty.  Add some shirring to the wrap and now you've got a real winner!  The perfect suit for me!


So, I'm still searching...not sure if I found the perfect suit, but I was very close.  It's always humbling to stand in the dressing room, with the mirrors, the Untanned skin, the lighting, etc.  Think I'll stick to Fruit only for lunch for a while.....

SIZE---DOESN'T MATTER!

OK ladies - one of my pet peeves is that we're all hung up on what SIZE we are.  We need to get over it!  It's not about the SIZE, it's about the the FIT.  Choose what FITS you ---don't even look at the size tag.  I'm pretty much a size 10, but will range any where from an 8 to a 12, a Small to an XL, a Jr. size 9 to a 13 ---- you get the picture.  If it's a slimmer fit, I usually have to size up, but if it looks great, who cares?  And please - make sure it FITS your body.  Show off your curves and best assets.  We're not all a size 0 on America's Top Model.  So, that's my STYLE Tip #1--Don't be hung up on SIZE.
