Fashion Show update

If you did not make our semi-annual Power of Pink event, here's what you missed:

Fabulous retail therapy!  There were numerous different vendors that had really great products.  Everything from clothing, jewelry & handbags, to baked goods.  I was impressed with the selection, variety, and prices---I found most people offered really affordable products.

*The Italian Biscotti baker was one of my faves.  Home baked Italian Biscotti's and Italian fudge---you can't buy this at the grocery store and I'm sure not going to bake it myself.  I brought home a selection for family.  What a treat.

Appetizers and Wine!  Kathy Jesmont, the creator of this event, always puts out a yummy array of appetizers & desserts.  I loved the pita bread and hummus.  Grocery Outlet was there again giving out samples of wine.  They offer a variety of wines to sample and are very generous.  Then, there are the desserts...I can only say, they looked fabulous and I'm sure they were, because by the time I decided to have a taste, most were gone.  Next time, I'll hit the dessert table earlier.  (Anyway, I had already had quite a few of the Italian bakers samples--so I really didn't need dessert!)

Raffles and Auctions!    There were so many prizes to consider--wonderful items from the vendors and other retail businesses.  It was fun choosing my fave items and hoping to win!  Too bad, I did not win, but it's all for a great cause, so it was fun anyway

Fashion Show Entertainment!  The final draw for the night was our Fashion Show.  I got to emcee this event and had a blast doing it.  Our models were from the group "Circle of Models" and I can't say enough how spectacular they were.  The feedback from everyone was tremendous & I know for sure we'll be doing this again.

Albie Aware Fundraising!  The night benefited this wonderful local organization, Albie Aware, who provides resources for Breast Health services to women who don't have insurance or funds to get the services they need.  So, if YOU know anyone who's not getting their annual exams because their insurance ran out, or they don't have the money, etc----Albie Aware can assist them to get the testing (mammograms, etc) that they need.  Don't wait, do it now!

Here are a few pictures from the Fashion Show.  Mark your calendar- Oct 3, the next Power of Pink event.

Fashion Show - Save the Date, May 30

Join us for our spring event, benefiting Albie Aware, a local breast cancer services organization, providing diagnostic testing to all women.  There is an obscene about of money going into breast cancer research, and that's great, but in reality Mammograms are still our best defense against breast cancer.   Albie Aware provides free services to women in need.  Early detection through mammograms and other diagnostic testing is a women's best defense and our only real option at this point.  Support this wonderful organization.

Tickets at the door, $6.  With your ticket you'll have an evening of entertainment that includes Appetizers, Wine Tasting, Dessert, Shopping from a variety of vendors, Raffle prizes,  and a very special Fashion Show.

We're putting together unique, fun looks from the boutique and I can't wait for the models to hit the runway.

Bring your girl friend, sister, mother, neighbor.  It's a fun evening for a wonderful cause.
